Plans to increase car parking charges for the majority of motorists could be put on hold.
South Kesteven District Council was considering putting up ticket prices for people who stay longer in Stamford’s car parks, while reducing the charge for some short-stay tariffs.
The changes were proposed by officers to try and offset a loss in income caused by an increase in parking wardens in the town.
But members of the resources policy development group decided a more comprehensive review was needed.
They will meet on Thursday afternoon and are expected to make a recommendation to the cabinet to keep charges as they were for the coming year. Councillors want to better understand the behaviour changes caused by wardens.
