A plan that will help guide development in Uppingham has been adopted following a referendum.
A total of 805 people turned out to vote on whether the Rutland County Council should use the Uppingham neighbourhood plan to help determine planning applications in the future.
The number of yes votes was 741, while only 64 people voted no. County councillors will now be required to refer to the plan when decided planning applications. The total turnout was 25.9 per cent.

Anyone living in the parish of Uppingham, along with a small part of Ayston, was eligible to vote.
