Video: Market Deeping cadet picked for Kenya trip

A young cadet has been selected from hundreds across the country to go on a special mission to Kenya.

Jake Exton, 15, of the Market Deeping detachment of the Lincolnshire Army Cadet Force, will travel to the East African country next year for three weeks.

The expedition will include a range of physical tasks designed to test his stamina and determination, including mountain climbing and walking around a volcano.

Jake, who was the only Lincolnshire cadet selected for the trip, said: “I thought it would be a great thing to do.

“This is an opportunity that doesn’t come up often in life and I’m really looking forward to it.”
