The achievements of pupils at Catmose College were celebrated at its annual presentation evening this month.

Last year’s Year 11 pupils returned to the college, in Huntsmans Drive, Oakham, to collect their GCSE certificates and mark their progress with staff and friends.

In addition to their GCSE certificates, some pupils also won specific prizes based on their progress and contribution throughout their time at the college.

The guest speaker was Lord Lieutenant of Rutland Dr Laurence Howard, who gave the pupils an inspirational speech about overcoming the challenges faced in life and being prepared for the unexpected.

He talked about supporting others, especially through charity, and urged the pupils to utilise their skill and talents in any way they could.

Catmose College principal Stuart Williams was enjoyed the celebrations and wished the pupils good luck in their future endeavours.

He said: “It was a fantastic evening of celebration.

“This year group have worked extremely hard together, both in their academic and personal lives.

“They celebrate not only our best ever GCSE results, but also their time together at Catmose College.

“I wish every single one of them the very best for their future and I know they will all do extremely well.”
