Pupils and staff from a gardening club have been helping the town prepare for the East Midlands in Bloom judging on Wednesday.

The pupils from Bourne Academy prepared the boat outside the Darby and Joan Hall in Bourne with new plants.

The school chose a theme of sunshine colours to brighten up the town no matter what the weather this summer.

Teaching assistant Deb Freeman said: “We hope the bright colours will cheer up passers-by and put smiles on faces.”

A general clear up and litter pick will take place on Tuesday night. If you would like to help get the town ready call Nelly Jacobs on 01778 426123 for details.
