SCHOOL pupils have been taking part in unusual PE lessons.
Pupils in Years 7, 8, 9 and 11 at Charles Read Academy have been taking part in wheelchair basketball sessions since September.
The sessions, which are led by a coach from Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, gives all pupils an opportunity to learn a new way of playing sport from the same starting point.
They also help raise their awareness of what its like to be in a wheelchair.
Leigh Chapman, who is head of Key Stage 3 and head of PE at the school, said the pupils had enjoyed the sessions.
She said: “The pupils are absolutely loving the sessions and have really got into the spirit of it.
“They have enjoyed it much more than I thought they would.”
The sessions will continue at the school until Christmas.
