An Indian restaurant has served up a red hot treat for a local cause.

Red Indiia in Stockerston Road, Uppingham, has donated £200 to Rutland Sailability.

The restaurant chose to raise funds for the charity after picking it as one of the restaurant’s three causes of the year.

Rutland Sailability, which operates from its base at Rutland Water, is dedicated to helping people of all ages with disabilities learn to sail.

Restaurant manager Abdul Salik, who also has a restaurant in Melton Road, Oakham, presented his donation to Kathleen Angell on behalf of Friends of Rutland Sailability.

Kathleen thanked him for his generosity and wished him success with the restaurant.
