A SCOTTISH bagpiper was on hand to play his instrument to care home residents celebrating Burns’ night.

Members of Chater Lodge care home in Ketton were entertained by musician Callum Campbell who played a collection of tunes on Wednesday.

The residents also made shortbread for their morning coffee and ate Scottish haggis for lunch.

Burns’ Night is a celebration of the life and poetry of the Scottish poet Robert Burns.

Activities coordinator for the home Julie Broughton said: “It went really well and all the residents enjoyed it. Callum came in full costume with his bagpipes and he was brilliant. It was a great way to celebrate Burns’ Night.

“We’ll definitely be doing it again next year.”
