Lincolnshire County Council have announced details of resurfacing work due to start tomorrow (March 24) on the A151 Corby Glen, taking place over three evenings from 6pm through to midnight.

The works are funded by part of Lincolnshire County Council’s allocation of £5.4 million from the Department for Transport’s £168m pothole fund announced in June 2014.

The resurfacing is designed to improve sections of the road network which are reaching the end of their operational life.

Project leader, Tim Mawson, said: “Instead of waiting for potholes and ruts to form, we’re tackling sections of road where there’s a possibility the road structure could fail completely. Taking a proactive approach is much more effective use of these funds than repairing potholes once they form. “The diversion route is lengthy as we have to divert traffic onto roads of a similar standard. Please allow more time for your journeys, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”

The diversion route is via the A151 West, A1, B1176 Spittlegate Level, A52 Grantham to Osbournby, A15 to Bourne and A151 to Corby Glen.
