THE Bunting Babes from Rippingale have been presented with the Rose Bowl award by the Rotary Club of Bourne.

The Bunting Babes are a volunteer group of ladies who got together in the winter and decided to contribute to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in the village by making enough bunting to deck out all the streets and gardens in Rippingale.

A presentation was made on Monday night by Rotary Club of Bourne past president Gerry Colyer to Bunting Babes organiser Sheila Scholes and the ladies involved, at Sheila’s home in Fen Road, Rippingale.

The women met in the village hall once a week and managed to produce about five miles of bunting.
