A RECTOR is using his guitar and voice to raise funds for a church.
The Rev Philip Brent, Rector of Market Deeping, is taking on a musical challenge in a bid to raise £60,000 which will pay for disabled access toilets and a kitchenette at St Guthlac’s Church in Church Street, Market Deeping.
The Rev Brent is being joined on his challenge by church member Jules Morgan.
The pair have organised a fundraising night called ‘Just when you thought it was safe - The Rocking Rector returns and this time he’s bringing some friends’ which is being held at the church on Friday next week at 8pm.
Four years ago he raised £700 from his music night for the church but he is hoping after years of practice and help from others he can raise much more. The pair will also be busking tomorrow and on Wednesday in Market Place, Market Deeping.
Tickets for the gig are £10, which includes a glass of wine. To find out more call 01778 342237.
