Christmas started early in the Deepings when the Rotary Club of the Deepings’ Community Christmas Concert took place.

The Grimethorpe Colliery Band, which has been entertaining the club for the last 25 years, performed again at the Deepings Leisure Centre, Deeping St James.

The band, led by 2004 conductor of the year Ray Farr, played a brilliant musical and comic performance of seasonal favourites.

The evening was filled with community carol signing and a performance of Away in a Manger and Whilst Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night from William Hildyard School Choir.

The Rotary Club of the Deepings wish to thank everyone for their support and in particular the event sponsor Landis + Gyr and the local businesses who advertised in the programme.

Next year’s concert will be on December 6, 2014.
