Members of the rotary club braved the chilly weather conditions on Sunday to plant bulbs for the new season.

Seven volunteers from the Rotary Club of Bourne St Peter gave up their time to plant the bulbs along West Road in Bourne.

Club member Janice Hill said: “We have planted bulbs in all the main entrance roads to Bourne over the last 10 years.

“It just makes the entrances more attractive. “Together with the bulbs we have planted for the last two years along that stretch of road it should look stunning in the spring.”

Janice said: “With this planting, along with our litter picks, we are doing out bit for the community.”

The club planted three and a half nets of daffodil bulbs which were donated by Lingarden of Spalding and a mixture of crocuses. Despite it being cold the planters were just relieved the ground was not frozen as it was last year.
