A PUB has been given a third award by beer lovers in Rutland.

The Rutland branch of Camra, the Campaign for Real Ale, presented The Blue Bell in Belmesthorpe with its Pub of the Season: Spring award last week.

Chairman Graham Proud presenting the award said: “I am delighted to present Aubrey and Caroline with our Pub of the Season for Spring 2012. The Blue Bell will now be entered for our 2012 Pub of the Year contest.

“Rutland is very lucky as we have some excellent pubs selling excellent beer to grateful customers.”

Landlord Aubrey Johnson said: “Caroline and I are grateful to Camra for this award and Camra’s support in highlighting the difficulties the pub trade in general is going through.”

The pub is hosting a beer festival from August 3 to 5 with a duck race on August 4 in aid of Sue Ryder.
