Rutland MP Alan Duncan has clarified why he did not take part in the Commons vote on whether military action should be taken against Syria.

MPs voted against the Government’s motion calling for action on the country’s government to deter the use of chemical weapons but Mr Duncan was given full permission from the whips office for his absence in last week’s vote because he was on holiday.
