A village Christmas bazaar event has raised more than £1,400 for a church’s funds.

More than 100 visitors turned out for event which was held at Ryhall Village Hall on Saturday.

The day included a raffle, tombola, bric-a-brac stall, toy and book sale, craft stalls and a cake sale, as well as a visit from Father Christmas for children.

The money raised will be put towards funds for a new heating system to be installed at St John’s Church in Ryhall.

Fundraising chairman John Finden was delighted with the success of event and how much was raised.

He said: “It was an excellent day. We had a good attendance and everyone enjoyed themselves. My thanks goes to all those who helped organise the event and visitors who turned out.”
