PENSIONERS in Exton will receive an extra Christmas present again this year after a successful table top sale raised funds.
A sale at Exton Village Hall on Sunday raised £313 for the pensioners parcel fund which last year gave 63 pensioners in the village a token for a supermarket as part of its long-running scheme.
Originally a Women’s Institute scheme the arrangements for the Christmas parcels are now made by event organisers Ann Bell and Jane Mills.
Ann has been involved with the scheme for more than 40 years, she said: “We have done it for a long time and people seem to like it.
“The sale was very successful.
“We had a large variety of stalls and they all did really well.”
The group raised the money through the entrance fee on the door, the raffle and refreshments.
