RYHALL churchgoers raised a record amount to help pay for a porch extension.
Saturday’s table top sale, which featured bric-a-brac, books and DVDs, collected £342 for the recently completed north porch extension.
John Finden, a fundraiser for the church, said: “It is one of our best totals so far. The extension cost £110,000 but we have been collecting for five years and we only need to raise around £25,000 more to cover it.
“It’s a great addition to the church, it makes a real difference. It means we will be able to hold many more functions and concerts in the future.”
The church will hold another sale on Saturday, March 19.
