Send in your pictures and videos for summer solstice

Friday is the Summer Solstice - the longest day of the year - and we’re going to capture the area on video for a special project.

And we’d like your help.

We’ll be out and about recording aspects of life in our region as part of a nationwide initiative by our parent company, Johnston Press.

It’s called the Longest Local Day and it’s part of the company’s Summer of Love campaign.

We will be posting a video on YouTube and our website during the day. What we’d like you to do is join in by sending us either pictures or a short video clip - no more than 15 seconds - of something you’ve seen, done or been involved in on Friday.

We’ll compile some of the best and most interesting clips and pictures into a special video to mark the day.

You might record what the postman delivered, something that happened at work, a lunchtime drink with colleagues, the trip to the chippy for your Friday night treat, children playing in the park, something scenic that means a lot to you...anything that represents your area and its people and events during that particular day.

You can send your pictures and video, ideally in MP4 or MWV format, to the newsdesk. You can Tweet us or you can post on our Facebook page with the #LongestLocalDay hashtag.

Please let us know who is in any photos of clips, what is happening and the time it was taken.
