A DINNER was held to honour Vice Admiral Nelson’s victory at the Battle of Trafalgar.
Bourne branch of the Royal Naval Association organised its annual Trafalgar dinner at the Masonic Hall, in Roman Bank, Bourne, on Friday last week.
Branch president Nobby Middleton, 79, of Gladstone Street, Bourne, said it was an excellent occasion, with 85 people in attendance.
The Mayor of Bourne Brenda Johnson was invited to the dinner with her consort Tony.
Coun Johnson’s deputy Helen Powell also attended, and RAF Wittering’s station commander Richard Hill also went - as well as many more dignitaries.
Mr Middleton was pleased with how it went. He said: “We had a lovely dinner with speeches followed by a good sing-along afterwards.”
