VILLAGE shoppers have helped to raise £230 for their local playgroup.

The owners of the Kingscliffe Shopper in King’s Cliffe handed over a cheque to staff from the Willow Tree Playgroup.

The money was raised from people buying products marked with a special sticker offering a one or two pence donation to a local charity.

The products included items made by McVities, Walkers, Nisa and Tetley.

Shop owner Manoj Gorania said: “We have previously raised £104 for the playgroup and will hopefully continue to donate to local charities and organisations thanks to the support of our customers.”

Our picture shows playgroup workers Michelle Tilley and Leanne Pumpr, with some of the children from the playgroup, collecting the cheque from Manoj. With them are Manoj’s husband Joyostna and her father-in-law Arshi Godhania
