MORE than 450 people logged on to a website this morning (Tuesday) to wait for clues to the whereabouts of golden tickets.
The golden ticket search is part of an initiative by business partnership Uppingham First to get people into the shops in the town.
A special search has been arranged today to mark the arrival of the Olympic torch in the town at 4.15pm.
Harley Davidson bikes at Sycamore’s will rev their engines to mark the arrival of the torch along Ayston Road.
The Women’s Institute will be providing tea and cakes in the town hall. Uppingham Town Council is organising balloons and flags for children.
Golden tickets are hidden in various places and clues can be used to find them.
A paper version of clues have been posted in some business and shop windows in the town. Ticket finders not on line can register their find at Rutland Telecom in Queen Street.
The search will end at midnight. The winner will receive a £600 shopping voucher.
A Gin and Tonic Party will be held in The Falcon Hotel from 5pm after the torch departs.
Live music will be played in the Market Place organised by Uppingham Town Partnership.
