CHURCH fundraisers have almost hit their target for a new porch.

A silent auction was held in the village hall on Saturday in aid of the north porch project and raised £227.

Despite it not being as successful as similar events in the past, Ryhall church fundraising committee member John Finden says they are still pleased.

“We have had to raise more than £100,000 for the north porch project and hope that we will have reached our target by the end of the year,” he said.

”We have a number of things coming up before Christmas to boost the funds.”

The committee think that the half-term holiday affected the numbers this time.
