Two sisters have opened a new art gallery that will give local artists the chance to showcase their work.
Suzanne and Karen Green, who are from Rutland, have launched Harbour Art, a gallery space above the Harbour Cafe, in Whitwell.
The sisters share a love for art and hold degrees in textile design and illustration, and both have published work.
The gallery opened on Saturday, featuring work by Rutland artist Patricia Smith. Her work will be up for sale at the gallery for two weeks.
The sisters are now gearing up to host an official open day which is being held on Saturday from 10am to 3pm.
The pair are calling on local artists to attend to see the potential of the gallery and discuss future exhibiting opportunities.
Suzanne, who lives in Cottesmore, said: “The launch went really well and we had a good turnout despite the weather. Now we’re really looking forward to our open day on Saturday.
“It’s a great opportunity for artists to exhibit and sell their work. There are so many talented artists in the county.
