Police are looking for the owner of six horses which were found roaming free near a village.

The animals were discovered near Helpston at about 10pm yesterday (Monday). Police were called and officers managed to move them into a secure field.

They have now released photos of the horses to try and track down their owner.

Police community support officer Gemma Dear said: “We are keen to find the owners of these horses and would urge anyone who knows where they might have come from to call police.”

The horses are described as:

- Grey Shetland pony, about 7ft5in tall with black legs

- Dark bay with black mane and tail, 15 to 16 hands

- Dun with black mane and tail, 15 to 16 hands

- Light bay 15 to 16 hands

- Grey 15 to 16 hands

- Light bay with a white blaze, 17 to 18 hands
