SHOPPERS had the chance to find out more about a skatepark project.

Volunteers were on hand at an information stall as part of a weekend event organised by the Stamford Skatepark Committee at Morrisons, in Uffington Road, Stamford, on Friday and Saturday last week.

Helpers also packed bags to raise money for the venture on the Saturday as well.

Project committee secretary Sally Jordan, of Roxburgh Road, Stamford, was really pleased with how the days went.

She said: “We raised nearly £500 through the bag packing. Thank you to everyone who volunteered and supported the event, including Morrisons.”

The committee also held an information stall on Friday and Saturday last week for people to find out more about the project. They are trying to raise £200,000 to install a new skatepark on the Recreation Ground, Stamford.
