Slideshow: Hundreds brave the rain at Uppingham Fete

Hundreds of people turned out for the fun and games of a town’s summer show at the weekend.

The Uppingham Fete, Flower and Produce Show was held on Sunday, and visitors from the town and neighbouring villages attended the event, which was held on Uppingham School’s playing field.

The show featured a dog show, children’s entertainment, flower and produce displays, a Pimms and wine tent, live music and much more.

Despite the weather being poor, organisers were delighted with the turnout and success of the event.

Show secretary Mireille Rudd said: “Considering the weather I think the footfall was brilliant. I was surprised to see so many people turnout.

“Everyone seemed to have a good time and our thanks go to everyone who made it a great day.”
