DOZENS of people braved spring showers to attend a fundraising fair on Saturday.
The Salvation Army held its annual spring fair at its hall in Manning Road, Bourne, and secretary of the Bourne Corps Charles Green was pleased with the number of people who turned up.
He said: “We did ever so well, particularly when you consider the wet weather all day on Saturday. We didn’t get quite as many people as we anticipated but we were pleased with how it went.”
The event raised £335, which will go towards the army’s work in Bourne, and was about similar to what has been raised in previous years.
There were stalls selling gifts, bric-a-brac, books, dolls and knitted goods, jewellery and an opportunity to try a number of guessing games with a prize every time. There was also refreshments on sale.
Mr Green added: “A lot of people went to a lot of trouble so I’m pleased it went well and I would like to thank everyone who helped.”
