STAFF at Tesco in Bourne have been joining their colleagues at 446 stores from across the country in attempting to cycle the distance to the moon.
Using two exercise bikes, more than 50 members of staff from the store on South Street, did 30- minute stints from 8am through to midnight to clock up more than 400 miles on Friday and Saturday.
Staff members where sponsored and a collection bucket was put out for donations from the passing public to raise money for the store’s charity of the year, Cancer Research.
Tesco’s community champion Megan Lewis said: “It was great. Everyone got really involved and really enjoyed it,
“A lot of our male staff got very competitive with it, wanting to go the furthest in their half hour, which helped clock up the miles.”
Several hundred pounds was raised.
