STAFF at Stamford’s Corn Exchange Theatre are celebrating after the venue scooped a top award in a regional competition.
The theatre, in Broad Street, won Small Employer of the Year 2012 in the competition which was organised by the Lincolnshire and Rutland Employment Skills Board.
The venue is committed to developing skills in education and the arts, and working with volunteers and creating apprenticeship opportunities.
General manager Judith Mackie said: “This was a total shock. We really didn’t expect to win such a prestigious award especially as so many businesses from the whole of the region had been entered for the competition.
“We are very grateful to Boston College for nominating us for this award. It was the only college in the area which supported our apprentices.”
