CRICKETERS were hit for six after celebrity chef Jamie Oliver came to film at their club.
Burghley Park Cricket Club spent a day in May filming with the Essex chef for an episode of his latest series, Jamie’s Great Britain.
The episode will air on Channel 4 at 9pm on Tuesday, November 15, and will feature Jamie playing a match with the team and cooking cranberry tart for them afterwards.
Club captain Chris Meadows said: “The cranberry tart was very good, unsurprisingly. It was just before the season started so it set the tea standard very high.
“No-one wanted to follow that. Jamie would get in the team just for the teas.”
