A WEEK of events will showcase how waste is affecting the planet.
The Stamford Fairtrade Steering Group has organised One World Week, which will take place in the gallery at Stamford Arts Centre from Sunday until Saturday, October 22.
Living for the Planet is the theme for the event, which will start with a Churches Together Service in the Arts Centre on Sunday at 6.30pm.
During the week, visitors will have the opportunity to take part in an interactive display, buy Fairtrade and recycled goods, including bags made from sacks and help to build a greenhouse.
There will also be a model making competition, which is open to anyone, and pupils from schools including Mulberry Bush Nursery, St Gilbert’s Primary School in Stamford, Copthill School in Uffington and New College Stamford are all taking part.
Anyone wishing to enter the competition should bring their models to the gallery by Wednesday, which should be made on the theme of buildings, transport or nature. Judging by local artist Josette Carrol will take place at 10am on Saturday, October 22.
