A LUNCHEON club which meets regularly has raised £500 for a charity.

Stamford Ladies’ Luncheon Club, a social club which meets five times a year to enjoy a meal and hear from a guest speaker, has given £500 for the St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice over the last year.

The money came from donations and members voted on which charity to award the money to.

It was donated at the club’s lunch on Thursday last week at Toft Country House Hotel and Golf Club.

Club chairman Paddy Thompson said: “We have heard nothing but good reports of St Barnabas.

“We knew they were expanding in the Stamford area and, as well as having a hospice, they specialise in home treatment.”
