A mother and son will head north to run for fun and for charity.

Caz and Ciaran Dolby, of Lyndon Way, Stamford, will both take part in this year’s Great North Run races in Gateshead on Sunday.

Caz, a member of Stamford Striders, will compete in the half marathon, while nine-year-old Ciaran will run in the 4km race.

Caz is the owner of Wildcats Theatre School. Both her and Ciaran will be running to raise funds for the Wildcats Foundation Charity, which aims to provide performing arts opportunities for children and young people with additional needs in Stamford and Rutland.

Copthill School pupil Ciaran said: “I am looking forward to this year’s run and hope to beat the time I completed the Manchester run in earlier this year.”
