A TEAM of street pastors have thanked companies which have supported the scheme.
Stamford Street Pastors was launched in April to offer support to people after dark.
A total of 28 trained pastors have been out on the streets in the town centre to help.
Scheme co-ordinator Anita Gordon said in a letter: “Each team carries a rucksack containing flip flops, hand gel, pens and notepads, gloves and a dustpan and brush to pick up broken glass. Some companies have also given us vouchers to allow us to buy further materials when needed.
“My thanks go to Precision Sports, Wilkinsons, Morrisons, Walkers, Millets, Vodafone, Marks and Spencer, Harrison and Dunn, St Mary’s Medical Centre, Cuts Ahead, Boots and Stamford Photo Express.
“Thank you also to the police and community safety partnership, a number of the local churches and members of the public for their financial support.”
A quiz will be held in Christ Church, Stamford, on June 4, at 7.30pm to raise money for the scheme.
