A supermarket has donated money to two good causes to brighten up Christmas for people in need.

Waitrose gave money to Shyp House in Stamford, which helps young homeless people, and The Evergreen Care Trust which supports elderly people.

The money was granted as part of the company’s isolation campaign.

The donations were put towards the cost of hosting Christmas lunches for young and old in the town.
