A WOMAN who wanted to help people out has retired from a charity shop after 21 years.

Rosemary Jackson, 83, from Edmunds Close, Stamford, did her final shift at the Cancer Research UK shop in High Street, Stamford, on Friday last week.

Mrs Jackson said she enjoyed her time there but thought it was finally time to stop voulnteering.

She said: “I had retired and my sister-in-law died of cancer. I didn’t know what to do with myself so I went in to the shop and volunteered.

“But I am getting tired so I thought it was time to look after my health. I thought enough was enough.

“There have been a lot of laughs and a lot of good memories.”
