A SERIES of Lent lunches kicked off in Ketton this week.
About 40 people visited St Mary’s Congregational Church Hall in Chapel Lane on Tuesday for the first lunch of soup, bread and fruit.
The lunches will continue for the next four Tuesdays between midday and 1.30pm for anyone to drop in.
One of the helpers, Christine Ockenden, said: “The first lunch was very well supported and we would welcome anyone to come along to the others for the chance to have a chat.”
Donations from the lunches will be split between the Khulwanda Health Centre in Kenya and Family Care which supports people in the Diocese of Peterborough.
