RESULTS of the Rutland Water Nature Reserve Photography Competition 2011 have been announced.

The contest was held over the summer and attracted 100 entrants whose brief was to show Rutland Water at its best.

Congratulating the winners and thanking them for taking part, Will Kirstein, education officer and team leader at the Rutland Environmental Education Centre at Egleton, said every entry was of excellent quality.

Will, who writes a regular column for the Mercury, said: “But, as they say, there can only be one winner – or in this case one winner for each category.”

“Congratulations to our winners and thank you to all of those who took part.”

The Birds category was won by James Skinner, of West Road, Oakham, Landscapes by Martyn Arnold, from Corby, and Animals/Insects by Roger Hyde, also from Corby.
