DAFFODILS, vegetables and arts and crafts were on display at a spring show.
Stamford Horticultural Society’s annual spring show took place on Saturday at the Congregational Hall on Broad Street.
Although the number of daffodils entered was lower than usual due to early flowering, the quality was more than covered in the vegetable, arts and crafts, photography and cookery sections.
There was also a silly section, where members could enter five daffodils they bought last autumn into an unknown category, decided on the day.
Society deputy chairman Max Winslow said: “The standard of entries was excellent, we were very pleased.
“Many categories were as good as, if not better than we’ve ever had, which more than makes up for the lack of daffodils.
“About 30 members entered the silly section and the difference in people’s entries from the same starting ingredients was amazing.”
