THE sun shone on celebrations in North Luffenham today (Monday) as villagers joined together for a fun family day out.
Jubilee celebrations were organised by the parish council and included a fun dog show, a scarecrow competition with characters based on the royal family, the Army working dogs and family races.
Music was provided by Stamford Brass and number one hits from 1952 to the present day were played over the speakers.
The celebrations are due to carry on into this evening with a barbecue and ceilidh.
Parish councillor Barry Read said: “It is fantastic. We expected about 300 people but there is more than that.
“We have been very lucky with the weather.”
