A POPPY appeal will start in swinging style with a ’60s night.

The Stamford branch of the Royal British Legion has organised an evening of music and entertainment to launch its annual appeal.

The Silhouettes will play a range of ’60s and ’70s hits at the Danish Invader from 8pm on October 22.

Legion member and organiser Bill Turner said: “It should be an excellent night of ’60s and ’70s entertainment. The poppy appeal is very important to us.”

Tickets are £5 from Bill on 01780 766697 or call in at the Danish Invader or the Hit or Miss in Foundry Road.
