It was a great charity fund-raising effort, despite the weather doing its worst.
The indoor table top sale at Whissendine Village Hall on Saturday had a range of interesting items on sale.
That included ornamental stoneware, crafts, wild bird seeds, Christmas cards and plants and flowers.
A combination of rain and half term for schools, however, meant the turnout was not as expected.
Organiser David Woolacott said: “The weather caused us a problem. And in hindsight we should have booked the hall for the week before half term, which we will do next year.
“It was a little disappointing, but that’s the way life goes sometimes.”
Nevertheless profits added up to a total of £40 which will go towards making improvements to the village hall.
Mr Woolacott said: “The sales were not as good as we hoped, but customers were encouraged to make donations, as were the stall holders, to make up the total.”
The next table top sale is on November 30.
