Talents on show

YOUNGSTERS showcased their talent in support of a planned community hub.

Pupils from schools in the Deepings and surrounding towns and villages danced, sang and performed as part of the Deepings Arts Festival at The Deepings School on Saturday.

The festival featured artists and sculptors in an open art exhibition during the day.

And renowned classical harpist Eleanor Turner joined local youngsters who performed in a show later in the evening.

Martin Adkins, chairman of the Deepings Arts Community Association, said: “We had a great turnout and everything went smoothly.

“We managed to raise a good amount toward the Orchard Centre, which I hope will become a great multi-use community hub for the town.”

Fundraising for the Orchard Centre, which will be built on a site off Spalding Road in Deeping St James, will continue through the year with car boot sales on the Glebe Field, stalls at the Deeping Carnival and the Deeping Show.
