Quilter and embroiderer Dorothy Sharman of Empingham has presented a tapestry representing many of the wonderful aspects of life in Rutland to Voluntary Action Rutland’s community building, the Gover centre.

The High Sheriff of Rutland Trish Ruddle joined the group’s chairman Air Commodore Peter Gover, for the presentation.

Mrs Ruddle thanked Mrs Sharman for her continuing support to the VAR, having previously donated three tapestries in 2011.

Trish said: “The wall hanging is a wonderful representation of Rutland and it’s important characteristics, and the group is lucky that it will be displayed in the Gover
centre for visitors to appreciate.”
