An embroidery teacher is hosting an exhibition of her students’ work this weekend to raise money for charity.

Ruth Chamberlain, of Church Lane, Preston, was inspired to host the event after hearing about a teenager battling cancer at the school where her son works.

She said: “This boy has been an inspiration and raised £50,000 by himself.

“We are just doing our best to help out and would like as many people as possible to support us.”

The exhibition will take place in the Rutland Room at Barnsdale Lodge Hotel on Saturday and Sunday from 2pm-6pm. Admission is free but donations for the Teenage Cancer Trust are welcome.
