Teenagers spruced up areas of a care home to make it more appealing for residents.

The young people, all volunteers working with the National Citizen Service, dug new vegetable patches and painted sheds at Digby Court care home in Bourne. They also created a new cafe area inside and transformed a room into a better doctors’ consultation area.

Activities co-ordinator Maria Fryer said the young people had suggested things they could do to help.

She said: “They did a wonderful job. Their work will make a huge difference – these are things we would probably not have time to do.”
