AN ANNUAL summer fete at supported housing in Bourne has raised more than £1,000 for two charities.

Staff and residents at The Almshouses in West Road, Bourne, held the event on Saturday in aid of Merlin’s Mission - hearing dogs for the blind, and Meningitis Trust.

More than 100 people attended the day which featured a bric-a-brac sale, tombola and refreshments.

Organiser Sue Walton said: “Everyone enjoyed the day. It was fantastic.

“We would like to say a big thank you to the shops and people who donated raffle prizes and also those who helped out on the day.”
