TEAMS and stall holders are being sought for a fun gameshow event.

The Rotary Club of Stamford St Martin’s is organising It’s A Knockout, which will be held at the Stamford Rugby Club in Hambleton Road on May 20.

The event took place for the first time last year and was a huge success, attracting about 4,000 visitors, with all the proceeds going to charity.

This year the club hopes to make it bigger and better with more stalls and fun for the whole family.

George Hetherington, who is helping organise the day, said: “Things are looking good for this year, although there are still vacancies for a few teams.

“The day is a lot of fun and we are trying to make it more of a family event this time.”

The event is based on the popular TV show of the same name. On the day, teams take part in a huge inflatable assault course with games including a human washing machine, a bungee run and a wrecking ball.

Businesses, clubs, churches, pubs, schools and groups of friends are encouraged to enter and be one of the 24 teams taking part.

This year a family fun day will run alongside the games, featuring children’s entertainment, face painting, inflatable football games, inflatable slide, bouncy castle, tombola, raffle, fete games, craft stalls, a licensed bar, a barbecue and ice cream.

Last year the event raised funds for the Evergreen Care Trust, the Spend a Penny campaign and the Myosotis Trust. Anyone interested in entering a team should contact Gina Wrench on 01778 341405. To book a stall call George Hetherington on 07891 437914.
