Thurlby art group puts on its first big show in Bourne

Artist from an amateur group based in Thurlby have put on the first major exhibition of their work.

The art exhibition by Almond Court Art Group took place at the Darby and Joan Hall in South Street, Bourne, on Saturday.

The exhibition showcased the work of nine local artists.

Most of the works were watercolours and several of the artist sold pieces.

Group founder Meg Biggs said: “In the afternoon there were quite a few people who dropped in.

“We are really happy with how it went. This was the first exhibition we have run in Bourne and there are always things you can learn but we will certainly look to 
do it again. “

The exhibition was not a money raising endeavour however the money raised from the sale of refreshments will go back into the art group’s activities.

Meg said: “It is marvellous fun and very relaxing.”
